Who?

I was born...

and raised in Iran, and that error wasn't corrected until I was sixteen, when we moved to the Golden State, USA. We took residence in the city of Glendale, home to one of the largest Armenian communities outside of Armenia, but Glendale never felt more than a temporary lodge to me. In pursuit of education and the canonical independence I moved to Berkeley, in Northern California, where I found a more dynamic amalgamation of cultures, ideas and people far more familiar and homely. I managed to take advantage of finer opportunities that life in these united states had to offer and found myself enrolled at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire for graduate studies. New Hampshire was not my cup of tea. The brutal winters coupled with generally stoic and reserved New Englanders, and the distance from family didn't help. After my time in graduate school I moved back to North California, this time to start my life with my beautiful wife in Oakland.

With family encouragement, and a very high grade chunk of luck, I was given the opportunity, by some insightful folks, to work in the Financial Services Industry as a Senior Quantitative Analyst. I love my job as I enjoy delving into mathematically challenging problems and creating all sorts of models and weaving automation routines.
To sum it all up, I am an epicurean. I enjoy a good glass of Cognac, indulge in the occasional Gin and Tonic, Wine or a delicious pint of Stout. I am a lifelong learner. I obsess over staying on top of my finances, and derive pleasure from researching the next asset that I shall purchase for our portfolio. And finally, I love outings with my family, hiking, all you can eat, top notch buffets, and having fun times with my little niece and nephew.
